The series 'Bridgerton' will stay with viewers for at least another couple of years, perhaps longer.

Streaming service Netflix has announced that it is renewing the sensational series 'Bridgerton' for seasons 3 and 4 even before the release of season 2, which is currently in production and will tell the story of the new romantic interest of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).

Although Netflix representatives for obvious reasons are not yet officially revealing what to expect from the continuation, it is worth assuming that the creators will follow the structure of Julia Quinn's novel, dedicating each new season to the search for love by members of the Bridgerton family.

What the Creators Say

Netflix's Vice President of Global TV, Bela Bajaria, commented on the show's renewal:

The creative team, led by Shonda (Rhimes, - ed. note), knew the material and created a beautiful, emotional, and romantic drama for our viewers. She has exciting plans for the future, and we think viewers will be thrilled with this show. We plan to be involved with 'Bridgerton' for a very long time.

Executive producer of the series Shonda Rhimes adds:

When I first read Julia Quinn's delightful story, I already knew it would captivate viewers. But the success of this project would not have been possible without the enormous contribution of the entire ShondaLand team. Renewing the show for two seasons at once is a vote of confidence in our work, and I am incredibly grateful to have partners like Netflix. We are very excited to continue introducing viewers to the world of 'Bridgerton'.

The series 'Bridgerton' debuted on Netflix on Christmas 2020 and instantly became a global sensation. In its first month, the show garnered over 80 million views, making it the most popular original project on the platform ever. Therefore, it is no surprise that the creators are so confident in its success and have renewed the series through season 4.

News and Interesting Facts

In early April, it became known that the series 'Bridgerton' would continue without one of the main stars of the debut season, Regé-Jean Page. The actor decided to leave the show, despite offers to stay in a cameo role in several episodes of the continuation. Page has become highly sought after, and in the near future he can be seen, for example, in the film 'Dungeons & Dragons', where his partner will be Chris Pine.
