New Netflix shows and series worth checking out: a Spanish drama from the creators of 'Money Heist', documentaries about pirates and Mormons, an anime based on DOTA and Kaiju, and another variation of the Sherlock Holmes story.
Moxie
Premiere: March 3
A Netflix film about a schoolgirl named Vivian who publishes an underground zine to stop classmates' harassment and raise the issue of sexism. Many clips have already spread on TikTok. This is the director's second film for Netflix, and Amy Poehler also produced Russian Doll.
Murder Among the Mormons
Premiere: March 3
Documentary films about murders are reaching a new level. This time, mystical Mormons are added to the mix. The film focuses on a convoluted, existential investigation for an organization in the mid-1980s. We'll learn about famous American writers and rare historical documents. There's a church, a conspiracy, and a series of murders.
Pacific Rim: The Black
Premiere: March 4
An animated series from Netflix is a spin-off of Guillermo del Toro's film of the same name. Giant monsters, Kaiju, begin emerging from the ocean depths, destroying everything in their path. After their attack on Australia, a miraculously surviving brother and sister try to find their parents. They encounter a huge combat robot, which they can pilot to fight the monsters.
The One
Premiere: March 12
A startup from the future that finds the perfect match? Netflix presents a series about technology. In the future, finding the ideal partner is possible using DNA and special algorithms. Something along the lines of Black Mirror.
The Lost Pirate Kingdom
Premiere: March 15
A new interesting documentary. The project tells the history of pirates, focusing on various famous representatives of this 'profession' during its heyday — and the problems they caused. We'll see Charles Vane, Anne Bonny, Blackbeard, and other cool heroes of the 'Pirate Republic' again. Definitely recommended for all fans of the series Black Sails.
Sky Rojo
Premiere: March 19
The Spanish version of the Russian series 'Chiki' — that's our comparison. Because the story is also about three prostitute friends who embark on wild adventures. They promise something in the spirit of Tarantino. And the creators include the team behind Money Heist.
DOTA: Dragon's Blood
Premiere: March 25
Fans of the game Dota 2 have been waiting for this project for a long time. The events of the anime take place in the Dota universe, and the main character is the Dragon Knight Davion himself. Expect a dangerous adventure and many familiar characters. Given the popularity of the game and anime, the show will definitely have many viewers.
The Irregulars
Premiere: March 26
After the film 'Enola Holmes', Netflix decided to continue exploring the detective's world and offered a new take on a group of Sherlock Holmes' street urchins. If you are familiar with the original source, Arthur Conan Doyle mentioned that the information and clues from the streets for the detective were provided by children.
Not everyone will like the new image of Sherlock, but 'Enola Holmes' compensates for this with many other merits.
