The series WandaVision is a pioneer in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have collected all the Easter eggs and share what we were shown in episodes 1 and 2 of the Disney+ project.

Marvel returns to our screens with its first and highly experimental series WandaVision. Secret organizations, jokes, and familiar characters — we examine everything you might have missed while watching the first two episodes.

The series WandaVision is a pioneer in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it is unlike any existing project. An unprepared viewer might find everything strange, but we are open to experiments. At one of the Marvel and Disney conventions, studio producer Kevin Feige prepared fans for the series to be made in the spirit of popular 20th-century sitcoms, while also being half a traditional Marvel blockbuster. It is also worth knowing that skipping the Disney+ series is not recommended, as all the events in WandaVision will greatly impact the entire phase and future universe films.

The first two episodes are simply charming. The humor, atmosphere, chosen looks and costumes, black-and-white footage, sitcom style, and even the recorded laugh track — everything makes the series extremely appealing. Special mention goes to the actors' performances — Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are doing a wonderful job so far.

The Mystery

For now, the series' plot remains a mystery to everyone. We roughly understand that the entire sitcom is an illusion in Wanda's mind. And we roughly know the comic book events, but the cinematic universe is still very different from the original stories. In the very first episode, we are shown a connection to the real world — an important detail that fuels the intrigue. What is really going on here?

The effect is heightened by clearly extraneous sounds, music, voices, and a building atmosphere — which definitely makes you not want to laugh. And we assume that each episode will hint at what is hidden from our eyes. After all, even the heroes themselves do not yet realize where they are and what happened.

Abilities

In the cinematic universe films, we were shown very little of the abilities and capabilities of these two heroes. So it is even amusing to see what Wanda and Vision are capable of in this "world" and how they use their powers: from quick counting to cooking dinner.

The Magic of Numbers

The house number where the heroes live is 2800. In the original comic, their house was number 616 — a reference to Earth-616, where the main events of the universe take place. According to fan theory, as well as other comics, there is an Earth-2800. And perhaps this is a hint at the multiverse.

On the calendar in the first episode, a date is marked — August 23. This is a reference to comic issue #238, where Vision returns after passing through an energy field and a certain "reality bubble."

The number on the helicopter in the garden is 57. This is a reference to the comic issue featuring Vision's first appearance.

Familiar Characters

Agatha Harkness (Agnes) — for now, just Wanda and Vision's neighbor. In the comics, a character with this name is inextricably linked to part of this couple's life. And there, she is a witch.

Monica Rambeau — the grown-up girl from the film Captain Marvel.

The voice from the radio belongs to Jimmy Woo — an FBI agent who appeared in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Place of Work

I was also intrigued by Vision's place of work. It is no coincidence that they do not immediately show us the company name or logos, nor do they provide answers to the questions: what does everyone do here?

Commercials

So, from the two episodes, it became clear that the commercials are a blatant hint at Wanda's life story. In the first commercial, we see a toaster from Stark Industries and clearly hear the sound of a ticking bomb. From the films, we know that Stark and his bomb are responsible for the death of Wanda's parents.

In the second commercial, we are shown a watch with the HYDRA logo and the inscription Strücker. Wolfgang von Strucker conducted experiments at his base in Sokovia, his test subjects being Wanda and her brother. The commercial's slogan also contains a reference to Strucker saving your time or winning it — in the film, the character stole the scepter with the Mind Stone.

Colored Details — Red Color

Red is the color of Wanda's magic. And the details most likely hint at a connection to reality, possibly breaking through in some moments. For example, the light bulb on the toaster, the helicopter, and the bloody hand.

Wine Bottle

The brand of the bottle is Maison du Mépris or "House of Suffering." And the prominently highlighted letter "M" is clearly a hint at the comic series House of M, where the Scarlet Witch's mind rebelled and she rewrote all of reality.

Stop it

The phrase uttered several times creepily during dinner is possibly also a voice from reality. Someone is asking Wanda to stop.

Wanda, who is doing this to you?

In the second episode, we hear a voice from the radio: "Wanda, who is doing this to you, Wanda!" Perhaps she has been artificially immersed in these illusions, and people behind our fourth wall are trying to reach her.

S.W.O.R.D. Organization

At the end of the first episode, we see a girl sitting at a monitor displaying the S.W.O.R.D. organization logo, and when the image zooms out, we notice this logo on the table.

For those who don't remember — this is a branch of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it is mentioned in the first Thor. Scientist Erik Selvig performed simulations on wormholes there using data from this organization. According to the comics, it is also important for the universe and even conflicts with S.H.I.E.L.D. Their main goal is to combat extraterrestrial threats.

Later, the S.W.O.R.D. logo appears on the helicopter in the garden and on the beekeeper's back.

Animated Intro

The cute animated opening hid several details at once: images of Galactus, a reference to the Fantastic Four logo, Bova milk, or the name of Wanda's nanny.

Mysterious Beekeeper

An extremely strange character appears at the end of the second episode, after which Wanda rewinds time, clearly recognizing this person. Most likely, he is a threat to her. Fans are still guessing who is hidden under the mask, as it is still difficult to recognize the actor. And comparing him to the announced cast is also difficult. The creators definitely wanted to hide him from us, and they succeeded.

Jokes

The humor in the two episodes is very funny; there is definitely something to laugh about. Especially the jokes about how Wanda, breaking a plate over Vision's head, says something like "impenetrable head," but we know that Thanos killed Vision by squeezing the stone on his head.

The second curious phrase: "...he can't even lift the hammer!" It was said during the library meeting, and it is also clearly a reference.

Not a phrase, but a funny moment: it turns out that defeating an android made of vibranium with an Infinity Stone in his forehead can be done with a simple piece of gum.

Magician Names

Another reference for comic book fans — the names Glamour and Illusion (Mirage). They appeared in the solo comic series about the Scarlet Witch and Vision. Also, on the magic cabinet, you can notice an image of the Mind Stone.

Summing up, we can definitely say that the genre experiment was a success. Viewers are intrigued, the story is gaining momentum, and the remaining 7 episodes will be released one per week. We will be following the events.
