The premieres of the series "Normal People" and "The Great" on the streaming service Hulu became a real sensation, further strengthening the platform's position as one of the main players in the market for producing multi-episode projects.

The Handmaid's Tale

Perhaps Hulu's main hit is the series "The Handmaid's Tale" with the magnificent Elisabeth Moss in the lead role. 2 Golden Globes and a bunch of Emmy awards only confirm the high status of the project.

The series is based on the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, who could even be seen in a cameo in the debut episode of the show. A well-built universe, a strong emotional message, first-class acting — all this made "The Handmaid's Tale" Hulu's most popular creation.

Little Fires Everywhere

A bright new addition in 2020 from Hulu was the series "Little Fires Everywhere" with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.

At the center of the plot is the clash of two dissimilar personalities, one of whom loves order and proper behavior, while the other is her complete opposite, guided by her own principles and views on life.

At some point, the series may seem overly melodramatic, but thanks to the acting tandem of Washington-Witherspoon and the high-quality original source material in the form of Celeste Ng's novel, this story can captivate you entirely and not let go until the final credits.

The Looming Tower

The mini-series "The Looming Tower," which went almost unnoticed in the post-Soviet space, deserves a place among the best Hulu projects, if only for the magnificent performance of Jeff Daniels, one of the masters of modern television.

Based on the work of Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright, the project tells the story of the rise of Al-Qaeda under the leadership of Osama bin Laden and their confrontation with the FBI and CIA, which led to the tragedy of September 11, 2001.

"The Looming Tower" is a well-written, well-acted, and moderately engaging story in the spirit of political thrillers based on real events.

Castle Rock

The works of Stephen King are adapted into films and series far too often, which is why the quality of such projects is rarely acceptable, let alone earning the sincere love of fans. "Castle Rock" is an exception to these rules, as it not only largely captures the spirit and letter of King but is also a completely self-sufficient, atmospheric, and eerie anthology series.

The project, to which George Clooney himself lent a hand, is based on the satirical novel by Joseph Heller. The mini-series tells the story of a US air squadron in Italy during World War II, trying to maintain its sanity and hoping to return home.

An elegant mix of genres, the literary source material, and seasoned directors and screenwriters (Clooney, Michôd, Heslov) — all this allowed "Catch-22" to become a fairly notable project in Hulu's history.
