Part 3.

On Tuesday I had a mind-blowing trip.
In the morning I gathered my thoughts and went to the assembly point.

I was three minutes late arriving. And I thought they'd start complaining about the delay. How wrong I was…

There was already a small group of people at the point. Everyone sat silently, waiting. Apparently for the event organizer.

The age range was surprising. There were both very young guys and men closer to 50.

The first half hour everyone sat quietly. Then suddenly the office habit kicked in. Everyone went out for a smoke break together.
And then came unexpected meetings.

First I met an acquaintance from childhood. Then my classmate from university.
We chatted for two and a half hours about the bright life and the situation with the military enlistment office 👍

In the end, some guy comes into the office and says.
Guys, we have spots for fewer people than we called. We'll take 30 percent.
And thank you for coming. You're free until July. In July we expect you at 9:00.


The number of "Whaaat" in the room went through the roof at that moment.

Then my dialogue with the employee issuing new summonses.
( Me - that's me, E - employee)
E: When would it be convenient to come in July?
Me: It's not convenient at all for me to come to you. I already came today.
E: Oh, come on. It just happened. We only found out ourselves. But you need to go through it, the sooner the better. (better for whom?)
Me: And in July, could the same thing happen with a postponement to August?
E: Well, yes, it could, then we'll postpone.


This is some kind of circus 🤦‍♂️
In other words, forget about planning anything. You have every two weeks booked… or maybe not, depending on how it goes.

I decided to clarify the local procedures with them.
Me: And if I want to go abroad, how can I get the summons canceled?
E: Come show your ticket or tour, and we'll postpone your departure.
Me: You didn't understand, if I want to leave for a year, I don't need to postpone anything, just cancel it?
E-2: Oh, that requires permission from the chief commissioner… (hmm, so you already need permission to leave?)
E: You misunderstood, just come write an application, provide supporting documents, and surrender your military ID. (removed from registration = no summons will be sent)


Got it, understood. I rush home to catch the train with my family for vacation. And what do you think? I get a call from the enlistment office.
There's a spot today, are you ready to go?


By the way, while I was driving, I had already bought a train ticket. Mentally cursed the whole situation. Overall, I think they believe that the people they call are not busy with anything.
Sitting for 3 hours in the morning = normal. Oh, it didn't work out to send you, well, it'll work out later.

The only positive thing about this trip was meeting my classmate. At least I found out how things were going in my course, since I didn't finish my studies ))

Right now I'm somewhere near the Rostov region. I'm writing this post with no hint of connection. As soon as it appears, I'll publish it in the channel.

I'm going with my family to Abkhazia. I hope I can recover from the nerves that have attacked me in recent weeks. After all, vacation will happen, and then the gatherings )
