Have you already seen/heard the popular social media theory about "Obsession"?

There is a theory circulating on social media that in "Obsession," Nicky was possessed not by just some entity, not a demon or an embodiment of dark desires, but by the spirit... of Bear's dead cat named Sandy.

Here are the arguments:
— Nicky hides in corners and watches Bear while he sleeps — just like cats do
— Cats can bring their owners dead mice or birds due to a strange desire to share prey — Nicky does the same, but with the body of the guy's dead girlfriend [feline behavior in a twisted human form]
— Nicky's eyes glow in the dark in one scene — just like cats' eyes reflecting light at night
— Nicky behaves like an obsessed pet: waits at the door, follows the guy around, and demands his attention
— Bear wishes to be loved more than anyone else in the world. At that moment, the spirit of the cat Sandy could have been nearby; the animal had died less than a day earlier. It was the cat who loved Bear more than anyone else in the world.
In the world of cats, there is no romance or personal boundaries, only attachment. And Nicky behaves like a domestic pet in a human body.
— Nicky creates a whole memorial with Sandy's dead body and brings flowers for her.
— That scene where Bear left home and Nicky wrote and vomited in retaliation — a familiar reaction for those who have pets that dislike something.

The conclusion is this: Nicky is just a devoted cat who wants to be with her owner all the time.

Honestly, this sounds quite logical to me. And overall, it becomes clearer why so much attention is given at the beginning to the moment of the cat's death. It would be interesting to know if Curry Barker himself intended any of these subtexts or was perhaps inspired by feline...
