My relationship with feature-length animation is probably even worse than with European cinema. It just happened that way. Sometimes I watch something, but very selectively and mostly foreign. Meanwhile, thanks to @provzglyad, the domestic animated thriller "Nepokoy" by Berlin prize winner Leonid Shmelkov is rushing to our theaters, having already toured various festivals and garnered good reviews.
Shmelkov is the creator of the viral web series about the blue dog Andrei; I'm not familiar with it, but maybe it rings a bell for you

According to the plot, friends turn off the highway onto a country road and end up at the hotel "Rosa." In the morning, they learn that they cannot leave. Meanwhile, other guests disappear one by one, the hotel itself falls apart before their eyes, and strange runners dash around the area.

First of all, the setup reminds me of "From." The director himself describes the project as a mix of Lynch and "Groundhog Day." The film is based on Julio Cortázar's story "House Taken Over." And the music was written by Sergei Kuryokhin himself.

It will be in theaters starting July 30, so catch it. But premiere screenings will begin earlier: one of them will be on July 15 in Moscow, and director Leonid Shmelkov himself will attend.
