The plot is simple: successful realtor Rudd (John Cena) lives an ideal life until Marcus (Eric Andre) bursts into it — a weirdo from the school mentoring program that Rudd once took under his wing. Marcus hits it off with Rudd's wife, moves into the house, and creates total chaos. A classic of the genre.

This is a silly, naive, and at times hilarious movie from the kind that was made in the 2000s, when they weren't too shy and tried to entertain the audience. Matt Spicer previously directed the smart indie satire 'Ingrid Goes West,' so the gap in ambition here is certainly noticeable. But 'Brother' doesn't pretend to be anything more.

The best part of the film is John Cena. He tries his hardest to portray a serious, uptight adult man, and it's this contrast — a huge guy with a stone face in absurd situations — that works best. Eric Andre plays the fool as usual, Michelle Monaghan doesn't really act at all. Watch it if you want to turn off your brain and just laugh.
