There is a popular method – business canvas or business model. It is required to be filled in any accelerator, incubator, or any educational program aimed at growing entrepreneurial skills. But usually filling it out is the goal itself, and what to do next and why we are doing it is not clear. Let's figure it out. In general, there are only two goals – to check if the model works, and to find the optimal conditions for its operation.
First, let's understand what a model is. A model is a system that tries to recreate some process. In our case, we are trying to model a business, a startup idea. That is, to put it very simply, from the model it should be immediately clear: if I do something under certain conditions, then I get something else with certain characteristics.
Similarly, the business canvas model tells us that if we load resources, partners, and actions, spending money on it, we get value that users will consume through different channels and give us more money. It all looks very simple, like an equation from school. Half of the readers have already lost the desire to do business modeling, but believe me, it's all very simple.
How to fill out the business canvas correctly so that it works – it's simple. It should contain numbers
How to build hypotheses – it's simple, check if we lied in our statements, do we have evidence?
