In previous posts, I already told you how to pack a suitcase, what to do BEFORE your vacation starts, and what to put in your first aid kit if you’re flying with children.

And now, the suitcases are packed, everyone is ready, but…

🤔 One of the most pressing questions right now: will the flight depart on schedule due to the periodic closure of airports during the “Carpet” mode.

Usually, we remind tourists about their trip a couple of days before departure. But it’s not a bad idea to track the schedule yourself.

✅ And be sure to check or verify the departure airport and terminal yourself. If online check-in is available, use it.

Be careful! Check-in for international flights ends one hour before departure, so don’t be late. Some airports have counters for late passengers, but then you’ll have to pay extra.

🔸 Find on the board your flight number and check-in counters.

🔸 Pack your luggage.
If you have a Priority Pass, free luggage wrapping may also be available.

🔸 We recommend waiting for your flight in the departure lounges - from there you can proceed directly to boarding.

🔸 Check in for your flight.
To check in, go to the indicated counters, present your passport and ticket, drop off your luggage, and receive your boarding pass and baggage tags.

If you have already checked in online, you only need to drop off your luggage (to avoid standing in line, use the Baggage drop-off counter or the business class check-in counter).

If online check-in was not available for your flight, you need to go through the full check-in procedure.

⭕ If it’s a connecting flight - ask to check your luggage through to the final destination. If you have fragile items in your luggage, ask at the check-in counter for a “Fragile” sticker so that handlers treat it with care.

🔸 Go through passport and customs control.

Present your passport, visa, and children’s documents (original birth certificate, consent for travel if necessary). Immediately find your departure gate. Its number is always indicated on your boarding pass.

Keep track of time and periodically check the information on the board.

🔸 30 minutes before departure, boarding will begin at your gate. Sometimes the gate number may change. Boarding ends 20 minutes before departure, so it’s critical not to be late for boarding.

🔸 Be sure to keep your boarding pass until the end of the flight.

➡️ If you plan to visit Duty Free, remember:
Purchases when boarding the flight must be unopened. Also, check with your manager whether Duty Free purchases are included in your carry-on allowance.

And remember that airlines do not allow intoxicated people on board.

🥒Don’t forget to bring a small snack on board. I always take snacks and vegetables with me, even if meals are provided.
