Here is a link to a relatively fresh selection of literary agents looking for comics:
reedsy.com/resources/literary-agents/graphic-novel
Run the page through Google Translate and get to work. I focused on agents who accept submissions via email. (Submitting through QueryManager is also possible, I used to do it, but now it's tricky in Russia).
I go to the literary agency's website via the link, check if the specified agent is actually there and if they are indeed interested in comics and graphic novels. Is their submission window currently open? (If it says – NOT ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS! – better not write to them, they are 100% in a bad mood and won't reply).
If the agent is alive, accepts submissions via email, is open for submissions, and is indeed looking for graphic novels, I write them a letter.
In the subject line – the title of our work.
In the body of the letter (all in English):
• logline (announcement),
• indication of the target audience,
• 2-3 examples of what our comic is similar to and why,
• estimated length of the work,
• 2-3 sentences about us, the authors, contact information, artist's portfolio on Behance.
Attachments: synopsis, pdf pages or a link to comic pages.
And then all that's left is to wait for a reply, like a nightingale in summer. And most likely, it will be a polite "thank you, no, good luck".
Are you ready for such promotion of your work? Or will you choose an easier path? And which one?
