Recall that in the first season, the series told about Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) — a physicist, teacher, and family man — who one night, while walking home through the streets of Chicago, is kidnapped and thrown into an alternative version of his life.

The second season finds the Dessen family already settled into a quiet life in a world that finally seems safe — until unimaginable circumstances force them to flee again. As Jason's obsession with the Box intensifies, Daniela's (Jennifer Connelly) growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, and their son Charlie (Oakes Fegley) desperately needs stability while their family is under threat.
