2. What is needed to send a request to a QueryTracker agent?

I continue my story about the #QueryTracker website, where you can find a literary agent. So, you have registered, now it's time to find a person who will represent your comic to the world. What do we pay attention to?

Step 1. Look only for those who work with Graphic Novel
The word "comic" is almost absent on the platform, PAY ATTENTION!

Step 2. Read the agent's wishlist
Each agent has their own requirements. Before sending a query, carefully study their profile.

Examples of unusual requests I've come across:
• "Send a playlist you worked to"
• "Name three works of art similar to your story"
• Some agents specify they are looking only for BIPOC authors (stands for Black, Indigenous, People of Color. If you are not Native American or African American, don't waste your or the agent's time).

Step 3. Prepare materials for the query
The query is sent through a form in the agent's profile (similar to a Google form). Standard fields are usually:
• Title of the work.
• Word count — for graphic novels, often write "0".
• Author biography — briefly tell about yourself: who you are, what you do, if you have publications or experience. 2-3 sentences.
• Synopsis — a brief summary of the story (this field is mandatory for almost all agents). Some require pasting text into the form, others want a Word document.
• Sample / link — upload a few pages of the comic or provide a link to your work. The main thing is that the agent can easily open and view the materials. You can upload a pdf, but there is some terrible size limit; nothing fits for me. So links are our everything.

IMPORTANT! Prepare all these materials in advance and keep them somewhere convenient to access. I have entire folders with everything needed.

Well? Have I scared you with the difficulties of #QueryTracker?
