For a good 15-20 minutes, I honestly tried to grasp the plot and who's who, which clan belongs to whom, what everyone wants, where the mercenary ranking came from, but I gave up those attempts and focused on the main thing – the action!
And it turned out that it doesn't matter at all who is going where and why, why one wants to kill another, and a third is in shackles trying to seduce everyone. Almost every minute, someone on screen is spectacularly losing limbs, others intertwine in dances that make contemporary dance look lazy. Daggers fly, you just have to track where they go, swords blaze like those of the coolest anime heroes, wanted mercenaries engage in deadly bike races – listing all the whirlwind happening on screen could take a whole text. And they spent over $120 million on it.
If you honestly surrender to this whole carousel, the pleasure is guaranteed. Fans of the original source will probably be disappointed by the lack of depth and the fleeting presence of some characters, but otherwise, you'll feel this desert one hundred percent.
