I want to show you the updated version of my (now our) project "LIGHTS OF GOTEMSK"
This is a reinterpretation/transfer of everyone's favorite hero with rubber ears into a familiar post-Soviet setting, early 2000s.
As Alice says
"Lights of Gotemsk" is a rumanga (Russian comic) where Yezhi Vtumane creates a hyperbolized version of the post-Soviet space. Through Boris's story, he explores themes of:
heritage and responsibility;
struggle against corruption and violence;
the possibility of change by one person.
The visual style and plot moves combine comic tradition (superheroics) with local specifics (Soviet realities, post-Soviet chaos), and irony and grotesque help emphasize the absurdity and tragedy of the described world.
I would like to hear criticism and/or general opinions.
