Why Do We Still Believe in That Piece of Paper?
Listen, let's be honest. Why do we all think that if a resume looks good, the employee will be amazing?
I lived in this illusion for years myself. You open a file: everything is structured, experience is laid out, "English C1," "leadership skills." Sounds like gold, right? But then you hire the person, and after a month you realize—it's just a pretty wrapper. Empty inside.
And vice versa. You see a resume thrown together "on the fly" and think, "Well, no, this person can't even present themselves properly, how can they work for my company?" And you toss it in the trash.
Familiar story, right? We've all done it.
But it's 2026 now. And this old approach is like buying a car just by looking at the paint job. Nowadays, any resume can be written in 5 minutes with ChatGPT. It will have a perfect structure, selling points, and zero truth about how the person actually works. We fall for the packaging and get... well, you know. Either great "self-sellers" who can't actually work.
And the worst part—we're throwing away real gems with our own hands. Those who simply don't know how (or don't want) to blow smoke. These people are often undervalued; they're ready to work for less money and deliver great results. But we cut them off at the door.
I banged my head against this wall for a long time until I realized: you need to look not at the paper, but at the person.
At GetProfi, we flipped the game. We don't even look at resumes at the start. The system just qualifies: if they meet the criteria, straight into action. In one day, GetProfi conducts 30, 40, sometimes 70+ interviews. Yes, it's a conveyor belt. But it delivers pure truth, tears off candidates' masks, tests their intelligence, knowledge, logic, accountability for results, proactivity, and ignores the candidates' beautiful marketing fantasies (copywriters, we see you 😀).
Result: 3-4 hours of work, a candidate ranking, we take the best—and the vacancy is filled.
Look, here's a real example. Nikolai (in the screenshot) also didn't believe at first. He thought the candidates were "not quite right" because their resumes weren't shiny. But then he started talking to them—and his perception flipped.
Breathe out. You don't have to be a fortune teller guessing from resumes. Hiring version 2.0 is when we stop evaluating wrappers and start tasting the candy itself.
👆 Read Nikolai's review, it's all on point.
