I'm not exactly a big expert or follower of Asian cinema, but I'm not completely hopeless... and in September I'm waiting for the premiere of the Korean sci-fi action movie "Hope" by Na Hong-jin, the author of "The Wailing". The film has just got a new trailer, confirming the words of those who have already seen the film in Cannes that we are in for something lively, crazy, and thrilling.
I'm very curious to see how Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender played, because they play aliens, and judging by the trailer's frames, they don't seem to have human faces.
Some viewers compared "Hope" to "Mad Max: Fury Road", and that's an additional motivation to watch.
Word of mouth is gradually gaining momentum, and meanwhile the film has already set a record: it became the most expensive in the history of South Korean cinema. Maybe later someone will record the frequency of action shots or the number of stunts per minute and announce another achievement of the film in the style of Michael Bay.
Premiere on September 10
