In Germany, the regime is raging, and there is some public seething and discontent about it.

The railway concern Deutsche Bahn has announced plans to introduce a complete ban on the consumption and sale of alcohol at all 5,400 train stations and stops in Germany. The new rules are being introduced in stages and are expected to be in effect nationwide by October 15, 2026.

The essence of the new rules
The restriction applies to any alcoholic beverages, including beer and wine.

The ban covers lobbies, platforms, and all station infrastructure.

Previously, local bans were already in effect at about 30 major hub stations (including Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, and Hamburg), but now the measure will become universal.

If anything, you will still be able to drink on trains (in dining cars), so there is still democracy there.
In neighboring Switzerland, they have already distanced themselves from such an initiative and stated that they will not follow the Germans.

It is curious that Deutsche Bahn, as the operator of trains and stations, has the right to introduce essentially federal bans.
And they are also responsible for their enforcement and compliance.
