Part 3. I hit the notes, no rhythm problems, beautiful timbre. What is my problem?

Often people come to me for a vocal diagnostic who have decent basic skills: they have well-developed intonation and sense of rhythm (often such students have completed music school), but when it comes to performing songs, they complain that it sounds "somehow unprofessional" 🤔

Most often, the problem lies in the uniformity of the singing position.
The thing is that we sing mostly on vowels, each of which has its own position: "wide" A, "round" O, "flat" E, etc. All this creates a large difference in the sound of the voice while singing the text, preventing the voice from "flowing like a stream".

Therefore, experienced vocalists deliberately smooth out this difference, bringing the vowels to a similar form in order to create the effect of something more uniform and fluid, as well as to simplify the process of sound production 🤍

There are special exercises for developing this skill, I will tell you more about them on the live broadcast tomorrow, the main thing is not to overdo it: if you align the sounds too much, they will indeed become poorly distinguishable, and then it will be bad diction, not a uniform singing position.
