Don't trust the posters of 'Whisper of the Heart', the story is only fairy-tale in a few episodes.
In reality, we observe the beginnings of youthful maximalism of a Japanese schoolgirl with a funny fringe. There are no downsides to this!
In his autobiography 'Something Like an Autobiography', Akira Kurosawa shares memories of a vanished Japan, without the noise of engines and the hum of electricity. Watching Shizuku, who spends hours in the library, I caught myself thinking similarly. The anime saw the light in 1995, at the beginning of the film the girl asks why translate books into an electronic catalog.
Can you imagine how far this is from us? Now information search takes 0.003 seconds. A supercomputer gives it out in brain-digestible portions. Because of this, 'Whisper of the Heart' charms doubly, allowing you to forget about the existence of technology for a few hours. The desire to run into the Mayakovka on Fontanka after watching increases significantly. So the story fully justifies itself.
'Whisper of the Heart' does not chase mature feelings, on the contrary, it finds the modest charm of first love. And even though the final dialogue brings a smile due to its naivety, the story itself is worth tears.
Thanks to Vereteno and RWV Film for the repeated 4K screening! Country road to everyone!
