The Ministry of Health of the Novgorod Region has explained how to make pancakes healthier on the last day of Maslenitsa.

In one sitting, you can eat two to four pancakes without harming your health. That's about 100–250 grams per day. For those with chronic diseases or excess weight, it's better to limit yourself to one or two pancakes.

Experts recommend replacing wheat flour with whole-grain flour, such as corn, oat, or buckwheat flour. This type of flour keeps you full longer, aids digestion, positively affects gut microorganisms, and contains vitamins and minerals.

For the filling, they suggest using 5% cottage cheese with dried fruits or light cheese with herbs instead of sweets. The Ministry added that the traditional dish can be made significantly healthier if you pay attention to the recipe. Previously, they also published a recipe for "Three Glasses" pancakes.
