In Barnaul last week, the act of fifth-graders Artur and Veronika was discussed. On the morning of February 5, on their way to school, the children noticed a puppy near a house on Georgy Isakov Street. The female puppy's hind paws were frozen to the ground.

The puppy was warmed up, brought indoors, and handed over to specialists. At the Nika clinic and the Territory of Salvation shelter, a diagnosis was made: frostbite and tissue necrosis. For several days, Lapka, as she was named, received IVs and injections, and was monitored around the clock.

It has now become known that the puppy survived and found a home. The girl is now called Dusya, and owners were found for her in Novoaltaysk. At home, Dusya also got a new neighbor, a shepherd dog named Archie, who gave up his house for the puppy.

Artur and Veronika say they were hurt that many adults passed by. The children added that they themselves would not do that and would not leave an animal in trouble.
