In the Amur Region, a 44-year-old foreign woman was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for smuggling furs.

According to case materials, in October 2025, the woman attempted to transport 370 Barguzin sable skins and 667 chinchilla skins across the border. The value of the cargo exceeded 3.3 million rubles.

The court found the woman guilty under the article on smuggling strategically important goods. The confiscated fur was forfeited to the state.
