Post-cold from an open window or air conditioner is a myth. It is an infection - acute or exacerbation of a chronic one. And more often such a "cold" is caused by viruses. There are millions of viruses, but very few antiviral agents are known; for each virus, one must find its "Achilles heel" and select a molecule that does not cause severe consequences for the human body.
What has already been created: acyclovir for herpes, antiretroviral drugs for treating viral hepatitis and HIV, a number of molecules for treating influenza (not always effective).

People try to show care for loved ones or save themselves with decisive action: take medications. They go to the pharmacy, and there are dozens of them and a polite employee who chooses the right words, explaining the difference between zero and zero.

Here is how one drug without proven efficacy, available only on the Russian market, built its advertising: "Antibiotics do not work on viruses. Experts recommend prescribing 'fufromycin'."
And it is even included in the clinical guidelines of the Russian Ministry of Health. The advertising does not forget to mention this. Only the antiviral activity of these drugs has not been studied, nor is it intended to be.

The same goes for immunomodulators - is the module a plus or a minus? 🤷‍♂️ They also lack proper studies and advantages compared to placebo. Side effects will occur, but with placebo - none.

The average person has absolutely no knowledge or defense against marketing in pharmacies and from sales-oriented doctors.
As the heads of such "pharma" companies say: "It's good that people get sick!"
