On February 24, the Victory Museum in Angarsk hosted a ceremonial formation of teams that became winners of the military-patriotic contest "Defender" among units of the local branch of the "Yunarmiya".
The competition ran from February 2 to 15. It involved 13 teams from city schools, as well as teams from Meget School, a closed-type school, and a cadet corps. In total, 164 Yunarmiya members participated.
Participants demonstrated drill and physical training, assembled Kalashnikov rifles, and worked with a puzzle map of Russia. Deputy Mayor of the Angarsk District Alexander Titov addressed the winners and conveyed congratulations from Mayor Sergei Petrov.
Alexander Balakirev, commander of the "Ratnik" unit from School No. 31, spoke about the victory with a large margin. According to him, the team stuck together and felt the support of their comrades. The commander's personal record for assembling a Kalashnikov rifle was 33 seconds, and the group performed best on the Russia map task.
