A student of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) from Balashikha died after being electrocuted by an electric guitar.

23-year-old Denis played bass guitar in the university ensemble. During a soundcheck in the RGGU assembly hall, he plugged in the instrument, and everything was going normally. When the performance began, Denis picked up the guitar, jerked sharply, and lost consciousness.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died without regaining consciousness. Preliminary reports indicate an electric shock. Possible causes include the intersection of the signal cable with amplifier power wires or grounding issues. Denis was preparing for the concert and loved music. The tragedy occurred during rehearsal for the performance.
