In Veliky Novgorod, the second meeting of the Presidential Council on Codification and Improvement of Civil Legislation was held. The meeting was attended by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Deputy Pavel Krasheninnikov, and Governor of the Novgorod Region Alexander Dronov.

Alexander Dronov said that civil law needs to be regularly updated and adapted to real life, and this requires the perspective of lawyers. Dronov added that it is symbolic to hold such discussions on the Novgorod land, where Russian statehood originated. He recalled that the region hosts the Law Institute of NovSU, and the Regional Duma is engaged in legislative work. According to Dronov, regional laws influence the development of the region and the implementation of projects that improve people's quality of life.
