Governor of Novgorod Region Alexander Dronov, together with Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, Co-Chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Pavel Krasheninnikov, awarded the Derzhavin Prize in Veliky Novgorod.

According to Dronov, the prize has been awarded for the tenth time. It was established in memory of Gavriil Derzhavin, the first Minister of Justice of Russia, who is buried in the Novgorod land.

This year, the laureates were Director of the Federal Bailiff Service Dmitry Aristov and Professor, Honored Lawyer of Russia Bronislav Gongalo. Dronov wrote that both have done a lot for the development of Russian jurisprudence.

The laureates decided to transfer the monetary certificates to the families of participants of the Special Military Operation. Dronov called this a good gesture and thanked the Association of Lawyers of Russia for awarding the prize in the region. He added that the work to preserve the memory of Derzhavin will continue.
