The championship and city taekwondo tournament called 'Yunarmiya Cup' were held in Veliky Novgorod. More than 120 athletes from Veliky Novgorod, Tver Oblast, Kronstadt, and St. Petersburg came to compete.
The fights took place on three platforms. The judging was electronic, using the 'Daido' system with sensor helmets and vests. This helped make scoring more accurate and maintain order at the tournament.
At the opening, participants were welcomed by Andrey Pavlov, advisor to the Governor of Novgorod Oblast on veterans of the special military operation and a participant in the 'SVoi Heroes 53' project. At the tournament, athletes demonstrated their training, character, and desire to win.
The 'SVoi Heroes 53' project is underway in Novgorod Oblast. The program was launched on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and it prepares leaders for work in government and business in the region.
