A leisurely and very cozy trip to beloved Karelia for Maslenitsa. As usual, we managed to do everything: we saw the casemates where Yemelyan Pugachev's family was kept in the Korela Fortress, filmed content for my song, ate pancakes, and immersed ourselves in the art of Kronid Gogolev, a master of relief wood carving. If you're strolling through Sortavala (the name of the city is declined according to the rules of the Russian language, contrary to the claims of local residents), I recommend stopping by the artist's museum. Magnificent works — so refined and at the same time endlessly dear. True art! We were pleasantly surprised by such a wonderful discovery. I recommend you be surprised too 😉
