Valdai District Court, with the participation of the prosecutor's office, sentenced 63-year-old local resident Viktor Rassadin.

The man was found guilty of illegal storage of ammunition and explosives. According to the investigation, from May 2023 to August 2025, 18 cartridges for firearms and a can of smokeless powder weighing more than 280 grams were stored without permission in a garage. All of this was seized by the police.

In court, Rassadin did not plead guilty. For the totality of crimes, the court imposed a suspended sentence of 6 years and 6 months, a probation period of 4 years, and a fine of 15,000 rubles. The verdict has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.
