Telegram is one of the main platforms for influencer marketing. In 2025, the Telegram market was estimated at over 12 billion rubles, and in 2026, amid the ban on other platforms, the market was forecast to double.

Traditionally, Telegram seeding involves a lot of manual work, communications with authors, document flow, etc. This is a large volume of work, and many have built agency businesses around processing this volume.

In addition to the obvious problems for advertisers and authors, a possible ban on advertising in Telegram would hit agency businesses, essentially "turning off" an entire segment for which people were hired and business processes were built.

My previous post, where I took a comment from Ilya, the founder of an agency, caused mixed reactions. So I decided to take a small slice of the market and surveyed owners and CEOs of influencer agencies.

The question was: how would a possible blocking (ban on advertising) in Telegram affect your agency business?

Kirill Didenok, digital producer, founder of the communication agency DIDENOK TEAM:

At the moment, we are not recording significant losses — we need more time to collect data and assess the dynamics of campaigns and reach. So far, key indicators remain within working limits, and clients continue to carry out planned activities in Telegram.
Last year, revenue from advertising placements in Telegram accounted for almost 25% of our agency's total across all social networks. This is a large share of our business, and losing it would be painful.
At the same time, we do not expect colossal changes in the industry because there is essentially no alternative. The platform is in demand, effective, and currently almost irreplaceable.

Katya Mosyaga, CEO of Go Influence:

The ban on advertising in Telegram will affect the revision of influencer budgets, as there is no clear alternative platform to split them into.
We will again look for relevant audiences and reach in all available social networks, change strategies, splits, and find new authors wherever they go. This is not the first time this has happened to us: some will adapt and survive, others will not.

Vladimir Motin, co-founder of the agency 6sns and founder of the project RE:Source:

It's hard to pretend that a ban on advertising in Telegram won't affect the agency's work. But still, it's not a market-disabling factor.
• Traffic decreases but remains, and the social media audience continues to consume content.
• For now, YouTube remains, with a huge inventory where you can place ads.
We have experience working with banks and pharma, and I think they will still want to get traffic from social networks. Therefore, we will adapt, and time will tell what exactly we need to adapt to.

Overall, it is clear that if advertising in Telegram is banned, it will be noticeable for all agencies. For small agencies, this could indeed be fatal. But everyone is determined to adapt, find solutions and options. Especially since we have learned this very well in recent years.
