Russian zoomers are increasingly going to college. Since 2020, the number of applicants to the secondary vocational education system has grown by 37%, according to the Platform social design center and the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education.

Almost 29% of students in grades 7–9 plan to choose "stable professions". Colleges offer a quick start in work, employment opportunities, and skills that will be useful immediately. In many cases, employers are involved in training students: companies invest in training facilities, launch partnership programs, and update equipment. For example, Gazprom Neft is developing the "College League" project, which helps educational institutions in the regions and gives students the skills needed at work.
