🆘 Plastic. Our bag comes back to us for dinner

We are used to thinking that plastic is just ugly: bottles on the beach, bags in the park. But the truth is much more serious.

Scientists at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology are sounding the alarm: plastic does not decompose, it turns into microplastics and remains in the environment forever, releasing toxic "forever chemicals" (PFAS) and heavy metals.

These substances poison water in lakes and ponds, birds and animals drink them, and then they end up on our table with meat and fish.

This is a group of synthetic substances used to impart water-repellent and non-stick properties to things (in Teflon cookware or waterproof clothing).

Their main feature is that in nature they DO NOT DECOMPOSE. At all. Never. They accumulate in soil, water, organisms and travel through the food chain for years.

Plastic is one of the sources of their migration into nature)
