▶️ Apple has unveiled updated MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with the latest M5 processors, including the all-new M5 Pro and M5 Max. Two new Studio Display series models were also announced.

▶️ The 2026 MacBook Air is powered by the Apple M5 chip, which was first introduced last year in the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. This chip has the same configuration with a 10-core CPU and 8- or 10-core GPU as the previous M4, but all cores now run faster, and the GPU features a neural accelerator in each core. Base storage has been doubled from 256 GB to 512 GB, and maximum storage is now 4 TB. Base memory remains 16 GB, with a maximum of 32 GB in the configurator.

▶️ Other changes include improved connectivity with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and a faster charger in the box — a 40W dynamic power supply adapter with a maximum of 60W, replacing the previous 30W and 35W models. The only notable change is a $100 price increase: the 13-inch MacBook Air now starts at $1,099, and the 15-inch model at $1,299.

▶️ MacBook Pro models feature the latest M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, also introduced today. The 14-inch model is available with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips, while the 16-inch model comes only in Pro and Max configurations.

▶️ Briefly about the new chips: M5 Pro and M5 Pro Max are built on what Apple calls Fusion architecture, where two dies are combined into a single SoC with more cores. They can have up to 6 high-performance cores, called super cores, and up to 12 new high-efficiency cores. GPU core counts range from 16 to 40.

▶️ The MacBook Pro with M5 Pro can be configured with a 15-core CPU and 18-core GPU in the 14-inch model, and an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU in both 14- and 16-inch models. The M5 Max can be configured with an 18-core CPU and 32-core GPU, or an 18-core CPU and 40-core GPU. Memory ranges from 24 GB in the base M5 Pro to 128 GB in the M5 Max. Storage now starts at 1 TB and can go up to 8 TB.

▶️ Like the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro models feature faster Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, but their prices have increased by $200. The 14-inch model with M5 Pro now starts at $2,199, and the 16-inch model at $2,699.

▶️ Apple also announced two new monitors: an updated Studio Display and a new Studio Display XDR. The Studio Display gets a new 12-megapixel webcam, a new three-microphone array, a new six-speaker system with spatial audio, and finally a Thunderbolt 5 port. Other specs and price are identical to the original Studio Display, including a 27-inch IPS panel with 5K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.

▶️ The Studio Display XDR addresses this. The new model features a 27-inch IPS panel with 5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It also uses a new mini-LED backlight system with 2,304 local dimming zones. Maximum brightness is 600 nits, higher than the standard Studio Display — 1,000 nits in SDR and 2,000 nits in HDR. It also supports a wider range of reference color modes, including Adobe RGB. Other specs are similar to the Studio Display, except this model comes with a tilt- and height-adjustable stand, while the Studio Display only has a tilt-adjustable stand.

▶️ The Studio Display price remains the same at $1,599 as the previous model. The Studio Display XDR costs $3,299 and replaces the old Pro Display XDR.
