On March 8, I ended up in the hospital... with my youngest daughter.

The first couple of days I felt really out of sorts. A different daily routine, constant tests, that hospital atmosphere... food that's hard to enjoy.

And all of this coincided... with my birthday. Not the most festive scenario.

The first few days I caught myself starting to look at everything quite gloomily. But at some point I remembered that I had a book on NLP on my phone. And there is one principle that caught my attention:

“The map is not the territory.”

That is, how we perceive a situation is just our interpretation, not reality itself.

I started doing a simple exercise: looking for another “map” of this situation.

And suddenly it turned out that there are many pluses in this story.

I got a good night's sleep for the first time in a long time.
I spent a lot of time with my daughter - just being together, without the hustle and bustle.
I read a new book and explored interesting ideas.
I even continued working with clients.

And at some point I caught myself thinking: the same situation... but it feels completely different.

Sometimes life doesn't change.
The map through which we look at it changes.
