Mascots. Disgusting.
Once, mascots were popular—they were carefully thought out, creating a recognizable character. Mr. Clean. Skeletons. The Michelin Man. The Olympic bear.
Then that trend passed.
AND NOW IT'S BACK.
And it's some kind of darkness, friends.
Take an abstract shape. Attach eyes to it.
If there's more money, take a 3D model composed of arbitrary objects, colored, God willing, in the brand's colors.
If adding brand colors is too much trouble, just randomly slap together a figure with a neural network. Like at Fix Price, for example. A fox and, for some reason, a Hedgehog.
This is completely ineffective from a communication standpoint. Not at all.
But it's a trend.
