It is reported that the internal display of the iPhone Fold will have an iPad-like interface

▶️ According to rumors, Apple's foldable iPhone will be released at the end of this year with a wide internal display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg shared new details about the software of the future foldable Apple smartphone.

▶️ According to Gurman, the upcoming iPhone Fold version will feature several iOS improvements, including multitasking features inspired by iPadOS.

▶️ The internal display of the foldable device is expected to support "iPad-style layouts" and apps that can be opened simultaneously. The report also says that the internal screen will be roughly the same size as the iPad mini, which will prompt Apple to develop new iOS app layouts and navigation elements, such as iPad-style sidebars.

▶️ However, the device will not support windowed multitasking like the iPad, and will not be able to run iPad apps. Despite the large screen and tablet-style interface, the foldable device will run iOS. Gurman notes that it will have simpler multitasking elements rather than a full interface like iPadOS 26.

▶️ According to the report, the iPhone Fold will use a new display manufacturing technology that will significantly reduce the crease on the internal screen and increase its durability. The device is expected to have a camera with a hole in the display cover.

▶️ The foldable smartphone is reported to have a dual main camera, a hole-punch camera for the front camera on the internal display, and a Touch ID sensor built into the power button. According to the latest rumors, Apple may name its first foldable smartphone iPhone Ultra.
