A new US license to sell Iranian oil and petroleum products will allow about 140 million barrels of fuel to be quickly brought to global markets, said US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

"Today, the Treasury Department is issuing a narrowly targeted short-term authorization allowing the sale of Iranian oil currently stuck at sea <...> By temporarily unlocking these existing stocks for the global market, the United States will quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets," Bessent wrote on social media X.
