Recently, a well-known American magazine published research results indicating that people increasingly prefer digital entertainment on weekends over face-to-face socializing.
I've seen many times how people immediately say—this is the future, time to invest in digital entertainment, as the trend is clearly growing.
I deeply distrust all "future markets" because conclusions are drawn from such judgments. But why, despite the growing volume in the digital goods market, is there no point in new startups?
It's simple—digital goods can be sold an infinite number of times without any additional costs, meaning the top market players will profit the most. A new startup will only face greater challenges, as it will be fighting against large budgets.
