So you build an app, gather the first audience, pay for servers, code at night, and bring it all to a nice state. Then an investor comes along, gives a million for a 10% stake. They simply bought a part of the company from you. That is, you invested your labor and got 1 million. But under the terms of the deal with the investor, you must direct the entire million to the development of the company. Essentially, you are already investing your money in the common startup. Therefore, in my opinion, you need to be careful with investments and take them only when there are no other options left at all.
