👉Bottom line up front. When asked to explain something, the main conclusion should be in the first phrase, and only then additional context. But many do the opposite – instead of a direct answer, they try to reproduce in detail the reasoning that leads to it.
👉Just in time context. Don't try to dump all possible context at once. Give exactly as much as needed for the interlocutor to solve their current problem. The deeper you understand a topic, the harder it is to resist immersing someone in it.
👉The top-down bridge. When you provide context to someone, start from what they currently know and gradually delve into details, building on that.
