At the same time, you can look at it from the perspective of the total volume and from the perspective of how much the startup can earn on it. I went to 6 people who work in venture funds and are constantly involved in screening projects from the funnel. So, 5 of them don't look at these slides.

I often see this slide and have never seen it calculated even half a percent correctly. It's always some randomly large numbers, where a person making a gacha mobile platformer in the Uyghur language writes that their TAM is the total gaming market.

Second, markets move unpredictably. This is shown by COVID, sanctions, unexpected progress in one industry or another. Look at the cross-border payment market - it appeared recently and may die this year.

What do we end up with? Poorly calculated numbers that no one knows how to calculate, and because of that, no one even looks at them.
