And I so wanted to become the new 'Drive'...

Finally watched 'Crime in Los Angeles' with a superstar cast: Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, etc. I got the feeling that the film has no identity; it wanted to be like everything everywhere all at once: from 'Drive' it took the vibe of a silent driver with his moral code, from 'Heat' the confrontation between thieves and cops, from 'The Usual Suspects' a bit of madness (for which Keoghan is responsible here).

And in this mishmash, there is nothing unique, and not all components work as they should. Hemsworth with his poker face is no Gosling from 'Drive', no matter how hard he tries to furrow his brows.

Perhaps the only thing that really worked is the overall atmosphere. Thanks to the music, the gloomy visuals, and the tired professional played by Ruffalo. But even that the creators managed to ruin with a saccharine happy ending for most of the characters.

In short, neither fish nor fowl, nor 'Drive'.
