One of the most important features of a startup is focus. We can compete with large players only by focusing on a user problem that large players do not address and poaching their audience (usually a very narrow problem). From this, a non-obvious conclusion can be drawn: if no one is working on this market, then it is not for a startup, since there is no one to take the audience from, and there is nothing to focus on?
This is definitely a controversial thesis, but it also resonates with the statement that a startup should not create a market - it's expensive. What do you think? Examples for/against?
