


What do you know about 3D printing with ceramics?
❓For many, ceramic 3D printing remains associated with futuristic technologies—ultra-precise, complex, and hardly accessible. However, today it is confidently entering real engineering and production processes.
⭐️Over the past six months, we have been developing a partnership with the company Retech LLC (PROCERAMIKA), the only domestic developer and manufacturer of stereolithographic 3D printers for printing with ceramics, as well as specialized ceramic suspensions.
“The partnership of our companies demonstrates that Russian industry is capable of developing and implementing technologies that compete at the level of the best global counterparts,” said Alexey Mazalov, General Director of JSC CAT.
⚙At the CAT production site, a PROCERAMIKA-170 3D printer is installed, actively used for research and technological development. The equipment makes it possible to create parts of the most complex geometry that cannot be produced by traditional methods or are economically unfeasible.
✅Products printed using stereolithography (SLA) technology have high density, thermochemical resistance, wear resistance, and biocompatibility, making them in demand in various industries:
🔴Aerospace: nozzle inserts and thermal insulation elements capable of operating at temperatures up to 1500 °C.
🔴Medicine: personalized implants and bioscaffolds based on zirconium dioxide and hydroxyapatite.
🔴Energy and Oil & Gas: seals, filters, and insulators resistant to aggressive environments.
🔴Mechanical Engineering: precision bushings, guides, micro-nozzles, and other tooling with accuracy up to 50 micrometers.
💡All parts are made from domestic materials based on aluminum oxide and zirconium dioxide. In the future, 3D printing from fused quartz, silicon nitride, and other advanced ceramics is being considered.
“We are creating a localized, technologically independent industry focused on real-world tasks. The partnership with CAT is proof of the maturity of the entire ceramic 3D printing ecosystem,” emphasized Igor Pchelintsev, General Director of Retech LLC.
💯Working with Russian equipment and materials demonstrates a steady trend towards import substitution of foreign products. Finished parts undergo a full cycle: from printing with an accuracy of 50 microns to heat treatment and sintering to full density.
