The State Commission on Radio Frequencies (SCRF) has allocated radio frequency bands to space companies "Bureau 1440" and "Sputnik".

These frequencies will be used to develop smartphone-satellite communication systems (Direct-to-Device, or D2D).

✨ Smartphones will be able to connect directly to satellites.

D2D will provide satellite communication outside the coverage area of terrestrial base stations. It will also be used for communication in case of emergencies.

The bands are allocated until March 31, 2029
