*⃣ Many come to LitCritic precisely because of the complex analysis feature, which allows for analyzing an entire work chapter by chapter, sequentially and without losing context.
*⃣ Complex Analysis differs significantly from Chapter Analysis, Critique, and Beta Reading both in content and format of work, as well as in complexity and cost. Unlike basic tools that analyze the uploaded text in one pass, complex analysis requires multiple runs (first for each chapter, then Character Analysis and General Analysis).
*⃣ Complex Analysis is a powerful but complex tool (on par with the Story Passport), requiring preliminary text preparation and chapter markup (although this is automated, we always recommend authors to manually verify chapter markup before running), and careful launches.
Therefore, before starting, we recommend watching a short video on how Complex Analysis works.
📎We have also prepared a short guide on Complex Analysis:
1. Upload or paste the text into the editor
2. Check or create chapter markup.
2.1. When uploading a file, the system will try to find chapters in your text and mark them up, and will also offer to upload all chapters as one document or as separate linked documents (one chapter - one document)
2.2. Check that all chapters are found or add them manually (the Chapters button above the editor)
3. Open the Complex Analysis window
3.1. Select the operating mode using the switch (will analyze all chapters within one document or linked documents)
3.2. Check that all chapters are correctly displayed in the Complex Analysis window
4. Click the start analysis button (the system will begin sequentially analyzing your chapters)
4.1. If you want to interrupt the analysis, click the pause button (the current analysis will stop after finishing the current chapter)
4.2. Do not close the Complex Analysis window until your current pass is complete
5. If you interrupted the analysis, closed the window, or an error occurred, simply open the window again
5.1. Do not rush to restart the analysis of all chapters from scratch (the system should automatically load your last incomplete analysis so you can continue from where you left off)
5.2. If for some reason this does not happen, first check the Run History
5.3. There is no reason to restart the analysis of all chapters entirely, unless you really want to.
6. When all chapters are analyzed, you can go to the General or Characters tabs and run the corresponding types of analysis
6.1. These types of analysis only work when you have a completed analysis of All chapters.
