If you've ever tried to deal with your fears, you've probably come across advice like "face them," "go towards what you're afraid of," etc. And as cliché as it sounds, it's really the only way that works.
The exact same thing can be said about fear of public speaking: it's impossible to stop being afraid of performing theoretically; you simply need to gain experience.
However, what kind of experience it is matters a lot. For example, you definitely wouldn't call it a good strategy to go "all out" and start your stage experience with some big TV casting. Or a professional vocal competition. The atmosphere there is usually quite tense and unwelcoming, so the chance of having a negative experience is very high, which will further delay your stage development 😔
It's much better to start small: go to karaoke with friends and sing a solo song for them, perform in front of colleagues at a New Year's corporate party (preferably closer to the end of the evening, when everyone is relaxed and cheerful), delight relatives with a musical gift at a family celebration. It is this kind of experience — surrounded by people who know and support you — that will bring pleasant emotions, and relying on them, you will be able to conquer small and large stages in the future.
By the way, this is exactly the reason why we decided to make our traditional online concerts open: so that not only our students, but also anyone with any level of training can get a positive performance experience among people who are also on the path of vocal development and are ready to provide maximum support 😍
