SINGER HONORED WITH COMPOSERS HALL OF FAME 🤩

His real name is Gordon Sumner. The nickname Sting came about in his youth because of a black-and-yellow sweater he often wore.

Before his music career, he worked as a school English teacher and simultaneously played in jazz bands, including the group Last Exit. Music remained a part of his life for a long time, but not his main profession.

In 1977, he moved to London, where he created The Police with other musicians. In the early years, the band did not have instant success, but gradually began to gain popularity and by the end of the 1970s reached an international level 🌍

Sting's voice immediately stood out: high, clear, with a distinctive timbre that is easily recognizable even in the band's dense sound.

After The Police disbanded in 1986, he started a solo career and changed his musical direction: his work began to incorporate more influences from jazz, classical music, and world music. Along with this, his vocal delivery changed — adapting to more complex and diverse music.
Sting did not start as a "ready-made vocalist" but gradually developed his sound.

It often seems that if your voice doesn't sound the way you want, it means you "don't have it." But in practice, the difference usually lies in how well a person understands how their voice works.
When you start to figure it out, it becomes clear where the tension is, where there is no control over breathing, and which notes come easily and which are difficult. It is this understanding that gives a sense of freedom and confidence, even if the voice is not perfect.

You can analyze your voice in one session during a diagnostic: see what is really holding you back and how to work with it. After that, you immediately get a sense of control and understanding, and then it becomes easier to shape your voice the way you want.
